EPANET was developed by the Water Supply and Water Resources Division of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's National Risk Management Research Laboratory. 6. WaterCAD 5.0

More than a decade ago, WaterCAD was released as a complete tool for water distribution analysis and its design.

LOOP software is mostly used to stimulate all the hydraulic characteristics of a looped and pressurized water distribution network, entirely made of pipes and nodes.

The data required for the software include a description of the network's elements such as the diameter of the pipe, length of the pipe, friction coefficient, ground elevation, nodal demands, and all the data that describe the geometry of the network.

The most important use of this software is to employ at least one hydraulic gradient of a network to simulate its hydraulic response to a single or multiple inputs.


STANET was released in 1984 for simulation and distribution of network analysis. This software is used to calculate the gas and fluid flowing inside the pipes.
